Designers
Since its founding, the designs of the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory stand for the highest artistic quality. Over three centuries the Manufactory has consistently stuck to its aim of closely collaborating with the most renowned designers, architects and creators of their time.
With the Commedia dell’Arte figures of the Ticino-based sculptor Franz Anton Bustelli, the Manufactory established its global fame even in the Rococo Period. That fame was continued by Bustelli’s successor, Dominikus Auliczek, and further developed by people like Friedrich von Gärtner, Adelbert Niemeyer and Wolfgang von Wersin in the 19th and early 20th century.
To this day as well, well-known designers show the way with their ground-breaking porcelain deigns: Product designers like Konstantin Grcic, Ted Muehling, Hella Jongerius, Reed Kram, and Clemens Weisshaar, and fashion designers like Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfeld, and Gustavo Lins create objects for Nymphenburg which receive the greatest acclaim worldwide and have been awarded numerous international prizes.
