Khashayar Naimanan, born in 1976 in London, commenced his career as a graffiti sprayer and photographer at the age of 15. He studied product design at the London Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and then at the Royal College of Art. While at university, he already became interested in concealment and disguise: he designed items of clothing with concealed pockets or melted valuable materials into nails which could be hammered entirely into the wall and thus be hidden from the eyes of others.
Khashayar Naimanan started working with Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg while he was still studying at the Royal College of Art. His HIDDEN WEALTH service turns existing conventions on their head: the design, which is based on rococo and empire models, has been applied to the underside of the crockery. The top only bears Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg's mark. This staging of "hidden wealth" includes a mirrored table that reveals the precious painting at a second glance.
