Saâdane Afif: The Fairytale Recordings
In the Schinkel Pavillon in Berlin, Nymphenburg in cooperation with the RaebervonStenglin gallery presented a performance of the artist Saâdane Afif with items of Nymphenburg porcelain: The Fairytale Recordings. It is the first work the Marcel Duchamp award-winner (2009) has done for Nymphenburg; indeed, it is the first time he has ever worked with porcelain at all. more »
Art Project: Jürgen Partenheimer
On the occasion of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s 125th birthday, the internationally renowned artist Jürgen Partenheimer is opening his eponymous site-specific exhibition for the Lemke House in Berlin. Partenheimer’s concept in this house, the last residential property constructed by Mies van der Rohe in Germany, includes works on paper, painting, and sculpture. Together with the artist, vases designed especially for the rooms as “sculptures”, with the title “Kalliope, 2011”, were drawn up in the masters’ workshops of Nymphenburg and manufactured entirely by hand. more »

Prix du Design 2011
The Prix du Design is regarded as the super yacht industry's Oscar. Many celebrity owners attended the award ceremony staged in the port of Monte Carlo on 23 September. The trophy, a volute bowl designed by Ted Muehling and handcrafted at Nymphenburg, was awarded to Eric Benson for his newly launched superyacht“Satori”(Heesen Yachts) by HRH Prince Albert II of Monaco and His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain. more »
Visions & Fashion
This special Visions & Fashion exhibition at Berlin’s Kulturforum lets the visitor relive fashion and its history from 1980 to today with the help of artistic pictures. Alongside photos by Peter Lindbergh, Lorenzo Mattotti, Sarah Moon, Helmut Newton and Rico Puhlmann, five works created by Florian Böhm in 2008 for the multi-award-winning Collectors’ Book of the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory are also on show. more »

Elton John meets Nymphenburg
To start off his “Greatest Hits live” tour of Germany, Sir Elton John appeared on 14 June in the Olympiahalle in Munich. Before taking to the stage, the self-confessed Nymphenburg collector met the CEO of the manufactory, Dr Jörg Richtsfeld, for his own private backstage shopping session. more »
Blue Panther 2011
This year, the Bavarian Television Award in the form of a porcelain panther from the masters’ workshops of Nymphenburg shall be going to Andrea Sawatzki, Frederick Lau, Lisa Wagner and Henning Baum. Iris Berben shall receive the trophy as the award of honour for her life works. more »
CULA opening with Olaf Nicolai
On Wednesday, 25 May 2011, the porcelain manufactory presented the new CULA art edition by Olaf Nicolai for the first time. The opening event with the Berlin-based artist saw some 100 art enthusiasts, collectors and journalists gather at the art society. more »
Romeo and Juliet: Jewellery inspired by the costume designs of Christian Lacroix
To mark the premiere of Vincenzo Bellini’s opera “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” on 27 March 2011 at the Bavarian State Opera, Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg is presenting a limited edition of seven pieces of jewellery. This edition was inspired by the costume designs of Christian Lacroix and is exclusively hand-crafted in the Nymphenburg master porcelain workshops. more »
