Egbert Baron von Maltzahn

CEO 1997 - 2005

When Egbert Baron von Maltzahn assumed responsibility for the company, Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg opened itself up to the outside world. First public tours and information days for the press, film and television media were held. And then, from 1999, contemporary and sometimes avant-garde forms were introduced to the collection. Baron von Maltzahn succeeded in winning international artists and designers, including Konstantin Grcic, Hella Jongerius, Khashayar Naimanan and Ted Muehling, to work with Nymphenburg. He commissioned Konrad Ellerhorst with redesigning the flagship store at the Odeonsplatz in Munich. In 2001, Corine – a figure from Franz Anton Bustelli's COMMEDIA DELL ARTE – was as a result of his efforts selected as the trophy awarded for the "International Book Prize".
