Luting shop

Many figures and objects by Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg that are made up of many parts are given their final shape at the luting shop. Following original models, the individual pieces are assembled here using slip, liquefied porcelain paste, and applied with a scalpel by hand as freely modelled sets, leaves and flowers, garlands and thorns to hedges, trees, crucifixes and tureens. Finally, the modellers retouch finest seams and work out such plastic details as hands, facial expressions and finishes with modelling tools.
