As a scenery for a festive table, or as a decorative key tassel, or another lucky charm.
As a scenery for a festive table, or as a decorative key tassel, or another lucky charm – the embossers at the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg's master workshops have taken the delicate feathers of the owl as a bearer of good tidings, as their example. Each individual feather is freely modelled by hand, making it a unique, elaborately wrought item. The objects are fitted with different coloured silk cords and bear the unmistakable Nymphenburg quality seal.
Designing the extraordinary? You have to take nature as your example, because the allure of its beauty lies in the aesthetics of chance, of seeming imperfection. The craftsmen at the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg discover this time and again when the transform artistic structures such as birds' nests into porcelain lanterns or allow striking branch formations to grow into candlesticks (as in the Ted Muehling collection). The Lucky Feathers Collection is a poetic continuation of this tradition of a naturalistic design while at the same time revealing a surprising new path in the field of porcelain design.
A special porcelain mixture was developed for the objects in the Nymphenburg paste mill. While elsewhere it is bought premixed, all the porcelain paste used by Nymphenburg is produced by the manufactory. Nymphenburg deliberately employs only manual production methods, which it has been perfecting since the 18th century.
