Castle grounds without swans? Unimaginable. The aesthetic liaison between the house of Wittelsbach and the majestic fowl has become famous throughout the world at the latest since the reign of King Ludwig II. It is ultimately not a matter of any common or garden kitsch, but excellent craftsmanship and, of course, branding. In just the same way as the eccentric prince regent, Nymphenburg is also unimaginable without the swan – whether it be in nature or measuring eleven centimetres in height, in the finest handmade porcelain.
