Representing a swan in porcelain is and remains a challenge even for a master modeller. The forming of the long, fragile neck in itself involves numerous potential pitfalls. If a luxuriantly fluffed up dress of feathers is then added as is the case with this furious swan, it can take days before the majestic bird is completed. But it seems predestined for design in porcelain due to its white plumage alone.
