Back in the 1940s, the sculptor August Göhring, a native of Thuringia, created a magnificent imperial stag for the Nymphenburg workshops. Together with four other figures, this magnificent animal was selected for the Big Five series in 2007. The inscription “Taupo 25th July 2002” on the elegant ebony plaque harks back to the history of the traditional hunting reserves in New Zealand, Africa and the United States of America.
