The representation of human skeletal parts is a tradition in Nymphenburg which extends all the way back to the 18th century. The pieces made from biscuit porcelain especially emphasise the sculptural qualities of a design. Since 2009, selected models like this crossed thighbone are being produced in black as well. The material used was developed in-house in the manufactory’s labs.
