    Flowers of life

Sebastian Menschhorn, graphic and product designer in Vienna, is known for transferring graphical approaches to three-dimensional creations. For his FLOWERS OF LIVE, Menschhorn chose depictions of wild domestic and exotic animals from Nymphenburg's back catalogue and adorned them with monochrome floral patterns. The FLOWERS OF LIVE are an ancient oriental motif whose execution has through intercultural shifts become ever denser and more opulent. Menschhorn has produced a simpler version of this pattern and has transferred them like tattoos to broad sections on the porcelain animals. FLOWERS OF LIVE originally symbolised growth, sensuality and wealth – so with these designs, Nymphenburg's animals have become the bearers of cultural insignia.
