    Detail Hand painted
Design Franz Anton Bustelli, approx. 1757
    Height 24 cm

As the sole ultra-pure manufactory, not only does Nymphenburg produce its own local porcelain mass, but all paintings are done by hand without the help of vignettes or stencils. As a result, an artistic freedom shapes the style of each and every porcelain painter. This way, a little more rouge on the cheek can make this figure, Chinese with bird, look sprightly and playful; a cool incarnadine touch however shows her aristocratic reserve. With this figure in particular, combining the various techniques from pen and paintbrush drawing to water painting was a great challenge.
