At first glance, it all seems very simple: A Mongolian in dark blue ceremonial garments blows gently on a bowl of hot tea to cool it. He is wearing an orange-red undergarment and matching fez. Painting this figurine actually requires the skill and experience of a master. The velvety depth of the blue of the traditional costume is created by the layer of black underneath and by being applied several times. And the characteristic yellowish-brown skin tone of the hands and face requires the meticulous eye of a stylist. The delicate, distinctive facial expression is the product of a masterly touch.
