    Neptune Chariot

Besides the PEARL service, it is particularly the monumental NEPTUNE CHARIOT table centrepiece with which the sculptor, Dominikus Auliczek from Bohemia, shaped the image of Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg from 1763. Influenced by his travels around the cultural centres of Europe, including Paris and Rome, he in the beginning particularly created statue-like god figures based on Greek mythology. In this centrepiece, he placed Neptune, god of the sea, and his consort, Amphitrite, in a shell bowl, which is being pulled by water horses with fish tails and accompanied by muscular tritons. As indicated by wall paintings with similar motifs, the NEPTUNE CHARIOT, was created within the context of the installation of the "Green Room" in one of Schloss Nymphenburg's wings.
