    Product number 00.891
    Detail Ivory, glazed
    Design Franz Anton Bustelli, 1755/57
    Height 18 cm

In the 18th century putti were extremely popular, for the Rococo period offered artists many options for portraying the childlike figures. From 1755, Franz Anton Bustelli also created a whole series of small deities intended to adorn the royal table. They included the moon goddess Luna, who is proudly carrying the large, flat crescent above her head. The dynamic and light-footed patron is standing, her body elegantly curved, on a base measuring six centimetres in height, bearing in front the Bavarian diamond escutcheon.
