As goddess of flowers and the personification of spring, Flora symbolises all the wonderful vegetarian delicacies that her season provides. In Franz Anton Bustelli’s sculpture of 1755-7, the goddess of youth is adorned with plenty of flowers. As well as the bouquet in her hand, there are numerous freely sculpted flowers in the folds of her loincloth.
