    Mocha cups

The culture of coffee drinking became established in European high society in the 17th century. First mocha cups for this particularly strong coffee – named after the Yemen port, which at the time was an important shipping centre for coffee – were already being produced at Nymphenburg in the 18th century. Today, there are mocha cups for almost all services, but individual creations also enhance the repertoire. The variety of the popular collectors' pieces reflects the artistic history at Nymphenburg in all its facets: from the cups of the PEARL service right up to the contemporary designs by Ted Muehling.
