Enchanted Forest

The rustic MAGIC FOREST service is based on the long tradition of trompe-l'oeil painting – illusionist depictions with photo-realistic effects. The decoration portrays a typical working situation at the manufactory: when images were transferred to services – for example to the ROYAL BAVARIAN SERVICE with its sepia veduta – it was common practice to nail the copper engravings to a wooden board that faced the workplace. This entire arrangement was painted on porcelain to create the MAGIC FOREST service. The small depicted wooden boards contain views of imaginative landscapes.
