Nymphenburg Sketches
In her NYMPHENBURG SKETCHES, the Dutch designer, Hella Jongerius, let herself be inspired by the complicated production processes employed at Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg and the artistic history it is able to draw on. She has brought animal and plant designs from four decades, from the rococo period to the present day, together and applied them to simple plates, bowls and beakers. The sometimes incomplete painting illustrates the process of creation that a design goes through. All craftsmen and -women participating in the production are made visible on the top with letters and numbers. In this way, this service, with its historic quotes and references to the production process, has become a reflection of the skill and the extraordinary treasures that exist at Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg.
