Pearl · Black Platinum

This new colour version of the classical pearl shape establishes a link to the present. Individual sections of cups and plates in the historic service by Dominikus Auliczek have been painted in brilliant black which is made to shine by a special firing process. The eponymous bead moulding, which is typical for this design and which borders all individual pieces, is applied in pure platinum over several stages. Due to the fact that the paints and platinum require different firing temperatures, both must be applied consecutively by hand and then fired. In a final stage of work, the platinum ornament is polished with semi-precious gems.
