The SAIGON coffee service by Wolfgang von Wersin is today regarded as one of Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg's classics. The softly rounded shapes and the delicate painting in apple green and platinum have made it one of Nymphenburg's most popular services. The motif and choice of colour are – as the name indicates – inspired by Asian designs. The waves of the Saigon river are depicted in the circular fretwork. The silhouettes of the gentle shape are emphasised by platinum-coloured borders. The elegant style of Wolfgang von Wersin is clearly apparent in such details as the serrated knob on the sugar bowl.
