Bavarian lions

Since its founding, Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg has been obliged both to its location and Bavarian culture. The BAVARIAN LIONS have since the 18th century counted among the most popular porcelain figures from Nymphenburg. As the heraldic animal, the lion firmly grasps the diamond shield in the state colours of white and blue in its claws. The Nymphenburg masters – from Dominikus Auliczek to Luise Terletzki-Scherf – have continued this motif in many new variations over the centuries and so today's selection ranges from the childlike and playful to the representative and heraldic, from miniature lions to monumental outdoor sculptures.
