Dinner plate

Some everyday items are so beautifully designed and easy to use that you don’t even think about them being invented. The best example is this plate, which was designed in 1932. This masterpiece of simplicity was designed by Wolfgang von Wersin, who created it together with many other pieces of the service for Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg. However, the ornamental design is thanks to a contemporary artist, graphic and product designer Sebastian Menschhorn, who was born in 1971 in Vienna. The stylised flowers of life extending across the plates, cups and teapots are symbolic of growth, sensuality and wealth.
