Bonbonniere
Be it a beauty spot, dimples or a gap in the teeth, we know how attractive a supposed flaw can be at the latest since Cindy Crawford and Lauren Hutton. The American designer Ted Muehling also plays with the appeal of apparent imperfection. This small, sage-coloured trinket box features a fine hairline crack. Only on closer inspection do we see that this is a decorative feature in 24-carat fine gold. And there is more: no two “cracks” are the same, for each one is painted freehand in the Manufactory’s master workshops.
