THIRD ADVENT

The present is a strange little piece of time. A delicate morsel that quickly disappears. At the end of the year in particular, retrospectives and previews jostle for our attention. How did you experience 2025? As exciting, exhausting, bizarre? According to astrologers, 2026 will be a Mercury year, and that means change. The Chinese horoscope sends the horse into the race, symbolising freedom, energy and courage. Whatever the coming year holds, we at Porzellan Manufaktur look forward to making the present as beautiful as possible for you. And there is no shortage of ideas for the future. We would like to present three of them to you today. And this Sunday, why not just forget about time for a moment?
Nymphenburg porcelain vase in the shape of a red ice cream cone with a branch of red gypsophila flowers

PRESENCE
Ted Muehling’s vases are something like the “Columbus’ egg” of decoration—an easy solution for all decor questions. Small holly sprigs, Christmas roses, or mini amaryllis arranged in the vases of different sizes and colors—done. The result is a table decoration that lets the food take center stage. Now, a new addition joins the well-known 35 variations: the just 10-centimeter-tall egg vase in coral. In many Asian cultures, this color symbolizes luck and prosperity, making an impression not only on festive tables. The trick, called “Unexpected Red”, is said by interior designers to make any room more exciting. Single red accents act as eye-catchers, no matter what the rest of the color scheme looks like — a “Columbus’ egg” for a quick home upgrade.

Porcelain rhinoceros illuminated by a match. At the end, a composition of a box, candle and matches.

EXCELLENCE
The shortest day of the year is still ahead of us, then it will slowly, slowly get lighter again. At first, we will only gain a few seconds after the winter solstice on 21 December. Enough time, then, to reflect on the past and make plans in the evening by candlelight with Søren Kierkegaard. For the Danish philosopher knew: ‘Life can only be understood backwards, but must be lived forwards.’ Over the past few months, we have been working with the traditional Viennese workshop Carl Auböck to find ways of combining the historical expertise of our companies to create something extraordinary. On the one hand, we have our manufactory with over 270 years of porcelain history; on the other, four generations of brass artistry, which can be found in leading establishments and international museums. The result: a unique brass slipcase with a porcelain plaque for matches. Clara the rhinoceros is embossed in miniature on the box, telling stories of her journey across the oceans and to royal houses. An object that brings moments of light with a snap and a hiss, celebrating the craftsmanship of timeless elegance.

Please note: This special set will only be dispatched from 19 December onwards – anticipation included.

Black turtle made of Nymphenburg porcelain with porcelain trees in the background

INTELLIGENCE
‘Grant me my request to be the third member of your alliance,’ says Michael the little turtle. The figure is another new addition to the porcelain manufactory and radiates calm, wisdom and style wherever it appears. The mysterious nature of its species and the details of its shell are particularly striking on the black bisque porcelain. The cheekily protruding head? A signal that one can look calmly to the future, especially when one's relatives have already survived on Earth for many millions of years. Despite its colour, the new addition to our porcelain menagerie does not see black, but confidently creeps towards every adventure.
