Pufferfish

This magnificent specimen of a pufferfish could well be the twenty-third species of the tropical coral reef inhabitant. In 1958, Luise Terletzki-Scherf designed the six centimetre tall fish figure named Luna in such a fanciful way. Apart from its distinctive turquoise-green coloration and the coloured striped fins, the diodon terletzki-scherfensis has another, unmistakable characteristic. Its black googly eyes are framed by lids painted in 24-carat fine gold.
