Philipp Baron von Redwitz
From 1972 to 1982, Philipp Freiherr von Redwitz steered the fortunes of the manufactory. Under his management, the manufactory's old circular kiln was replaced by a bogie hearth kiln in 1976, some of the rooms in the sales palace of the manufactory were partially renovated, and the "Blue Salon" was established. In 1979, von Redwitz introduced the Pierrot as a prize trophy for the Bavarian Film Awards; a trophy highly coveted in international acting circles. Among the most important designs of this period is the chess set by Herbert Kern, created in 1982.
