Philipp Freiherr von Redwitz
From 1972 to 1982 Philipp Freiherr von Redwitz directed the future of the manufactory. In 1976, under his management, the manufactory's historical peat fueled kiln was replaced by a trolly kiln, several sales rooms in the manufactory were renovated and the “Blue Salon” was christened. In 1979 von Redwitz introduced the Pierrot as a trophy for the Bavarian Film Prize; a highly coveted trophy in international actors circles. One of the most important designs of this time is the chess set by Herbert Kern from 1982.
