Mice

When Wilhelm Neuhäuser was working as a sculptor for the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg in May 1910, he heard a rustling in the otherwise quiet workshop early in the morning hours of September 13th. A mouse darted right over his workbench, paused for a moment, sniffed, and ran on. Puzzled by this cheeky, fearless and cheerful mouse at that moment, Neuhäuser decided to model the little rodent in porcelain. For days the mouse became a tolerated guest in the workshop and over time even got a name. Wilhelm Neuhäuser was so fascinated by the gracefulness of the little mouse that he continued his modelling work for the Nymphenburg Manufactory with a total of four different mouse figurines.
