Jürgen Partenheimer, who consistently develops his work from abstraction, is one of the outstanding artists of his generation. In the 80s he became internationally known through participation in the biennials of Paris, São Paulo and Venice. Exhibitions have shown his work at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the National Gallery Washington; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Singapore Art Museum; the Museo de Arte Contemporanea, Madrid and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, among others. Partenheimer has been a guest of honor at the Villa Massimo in Rome. In 2011, he set up a room-based exhibition of sculptural vessels from the "Kalliope" edition for Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg at the Mies van der Rohe Haus in Berlin.
