Michael Pendry created the basis for his understanding of space, light and shadow during his studies at the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences and the Art Academy in Munich. With the subjects of stage design and scenography, the German-English artist developed an understanding of staging that allows him to fundamentally change the common perception of everyday things. In his work “Stern des Südens” in 2009/2010, he transformed the wind turbine opposite the Munich Allianz Arena into a huge, rotating multimedia installation with the help of over 9,000 LEDs. In doing so, he set new standards in public perception and exploration of the limits of modern art. His monumental works always have a romantic side and enjoy a growing international following.
