Pae White, born in Pasadena, California in 1963, draws inspiration for her work from various sources of art history and pop culture. In her work, the boundaries between visual art and design become blurred. In many of her works, aspects of her own life and elements from different cultures are directly intertwined - this is also the case in her contribution to the “Skulptur Projekte Münster 2007”. For this project, three large bells in majolica were made in the master workshops in Nymphenburg. At the opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport in 2020, her largest sculpture to date, the “Flying Carpet”, was presented to the public. It is located in the main terminal.
