Hella Jongerius, born in 1963 near Utrecht, founded her studio Jongeriuslab in 1993 after studying at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Since then she has been researching and developing products, collections and interiors for international companies such as Maharam, KLM, Vitra and Danskina. She has lived and worked in Berlin since 2009. Jongerius sees her work as a never-ending process. Their designs combine the latest technological achievements with, in some cases, centuries-old handcraft techniques. For the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg she designed the Nymphenburger Sketch dinnerware and the Four Seasons collection. The most well-known are the animal bowls which can be seen in the world's most famous design museums to this day.
