Gustavo Lins, born in Brazil in 1961, settled in Paris in the early 1990s after studying architecture. There he made a name for himself with unusual designs for Agnès B, Jean-Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Kenzo and Louis Vuitton. Under his own label Atelier Gustavolins he has been designing and selling a unisex prêt-à-porter collection since 2004. Since 2011 he has been a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Paris. For Nymphenburg, Lins created a series of handcrafted porcelain busts made of draped fabrics, satin white busts between garment and sculpture, which were presented for the first time on July 3, 2007 at the Haute Couture Show Paris in the Palais Royal.
