Michele Oka Doner
The American artist Michele Oka Doner has created a body of work over five decades that is inspired by the fascinating forms of nature. Her work includes sculptures that are in collections of major international museums as well as the design of monumental public spaces - for example the Herald Square Subway Station in New York, the Miami International Airport or the Sacramento Central Library. She also designs everyday items such as jewelry and furniture. In 2008/2010, Oka Doner created a cycle of porcelain and terracotta works for Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg, including the installation "Down to Earth", which was shown in the manufactory's historic kilns. Michele Oka Doner lives and works in New York and Miami Beach, Florida.
