Model and Mold Archive
More than 30,000 molds are stored in Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg's model and mold archive. This is where the historical molds for figurines and service are stored in order to preserve artistic originality and model fidelity in reproductions. Only if the original templates are still available can the porcelain pieces continue to be made. For this purpose, the working molds made of plaster are taken from these templates for casting or drying the porcelain. After 15 molds have been made, the working molds must be replaced. Although many of the master patterns are no longer part of the standard repertoire, they can be easily reproduced on request.
Porzellan Manufaktur nymphenburg
Nymphenburg ist die letzte Reinstmanufaktur ihrer Art. Seit der Gründung im Jahre 1747 wird in der Manufaktur des Bayerischen Königshauses die hohe Kunst der Porzellanherstellung gepflegt. Manu factum bedeutet dort bis zum heutigen Tage: komplett von Hand gemacht in Techniken, die von Generation zu Generation weitergegeben und bewahrt werden.
