As in the 18th century, the mechanical devices of the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg are still fed by water power from the Schlossbach. Via a belt system that spans the site, the water drives the mills, the mixing vat and the pottery wheels in the throwing room among other things. The advantage of this mechanical is that it is easy to dose and maintain. A switch to modern technology would be a break with the authenticity of the manufactory. Commitment to stay with hydropower is therefore a conscious commitment to quality and tradition.
