Nymphenburg porcelain colors are known for their luminosity, purity and wealth of nuances. That is why Nymphenburg has had its own color laboratory since the founding in 1747. In the laboratory all colors used for painting are made and mixed from thousands of pigments and color oxides. There are innumerable shades of each color - over the years 300 different shades of green have been developed in the manufactory's color laboratory. Around 15,000 secret color recipes from three centuries are stored in the color archive. Each of them can be mixed, adhering to the original recipe. Customers for whom Nymphenburg developed custom colors can have any missing items replaced and painted in the colors developed for them.
